The summer of 2025 was all about stability, visibility, and future-proofing.
While the biggest structural updates had rolled out earlier in the year, June through August brought a steady flow of refinements — the kind that make Balancy stronger, safer, and more reliable with every release.
From editable user profiles and CDN fallbacks to improved Visual Scripting validation and smarter purchase handling, the platform continued to mature behind the scenes.
Let’s look back at what changed this summer.
Editable User Profiles — Live and Instant
In June, we introduced a long-requested capability: editing user profiles directly from the Web interface.
You can now modify primitive-type parameters — integers, booleans, strings, and similar values — and save them immediately to the cloud profile, with no redeploy required.
These edits apply instantly once the user is offline, ensuring no client-side interference.
Complex structures like Active Offers, Active Events, or Inventory remain read-only for now, but this update laid the foundation for deeper live-profile management in future versions.
Smarter CDN & Data Reliability
To keep LiveOps pipelines robust, Plugin 5.1.6 introduced a CDN fallback system — automatically switching to CloudFront if Cloudflare experiences issues.
This safety net ensures uninterrupted content delivery even under network instability, a quiet but critical improvement for games running large LiveOps calendars or asset-heavy events.
Visual Scripting Validation — Polished and Ready
In July, we refined the Visual Scripting validation system.
False-positive warnings were eliminated, creating a cleaner debugging experience for designers.
The Legacy toggle remains available for teams using older workflows, but we recommend running scripts with validation active to prepare for the upcoming plugin overhaul.
Validation is now faster, clearer, and much more accurate — helping teams spot real issues without noise.
User Logic Improvements & Plugin Refinements
Across multiple summer releases (5.1.4 → 5.1.8), the plugin gained smarter logic and safety updates:
June Highlights
- Added clearing of ConditionalTemplates before initialization to prevent stale data.
- Fixed addressables sync requests for more consistent asset delivery.
- Introduced timing helpers for conditions — GetSecondsBeforeActivation/Deactivation for IsGameActive and Not conditions.
- Fixed a rare crash on conditional evaluation.
July–August Highlights
- Fixed Not conditions that could unintentionally deactivate events.
- Added protection for conflicts and new icons for items and game events.
- Added Order ID in payment completion responses, improving purchase tracking and analytics.
Together, these updates made scripting and monetization logic more predictable and easier to monitor.
Developer Quality-of-Life Improvements
Summer also included dozens of quiet polish updates that made day-to-day development smoother:
- Visual Scripting validation now runs faster and reports issues more accurately.
- Crash prevention measures ensure complex conditions execute safely.
- Icons for items and events add visual clarity when scanning through documents.
Each fix may seem small — but together, they make a huge difference when managing hundreds of live variables and content flows.
Why It Matters
Summer 2025 was a maintenance masterclass: fewer disruptions, smarter warnings, and tighter integrations.
Every update was about giving studios the confidence that Balancy will keep running smoothly — even under heavy load, even across multiple networks, even when dozens of LiveOps systems overlap.
